The Indian freedom struggle revolved around the use of khādī fabrics and the dumping of foreign-made clothes. When some people complained about the costliness of khadi to Mahatma Gandhi, he started wearing only dhoti though he used wool shawls when it got cold. Our aim is to preserve and promote the use of Indian fabrics like Khadi through our products. That is why, in this collection, we want the fabrics to tell the story, to give a personality to our designs.
The kurta, along with the dhoti, are hand-stitched from a dyed Khadi fabric sourced directly from the weavers of West Bengal.
